Norton 360 Version 4.0 Upgrade to Version 5.0 (subscription days)

Hi All,

I have Norton 360 4.0 (3  PC Protection) and have about 70 odd days of subscription remaining. If I upgrade to Version 5.0 now do i lose those subscription days or Do they carry over.

Re: Norton 360 Version 4.0 Upgrade to Version 5.0 (subscription days)

you can update to version 5.0, 70 days will automatically go into 5.0 . But, then after 70 days, you will have to contact Norton Symantec and buy new subscription, which will add 366 days.  if you have a credit card, it should be easy, just conctact Norton store over their website.  What I would do, is use your 70 days on version  4.0, and then update (before  1 or 2 days  left before subscription expires) to 5.0 and buy new subscription that will carry for year. That's what I would do!

As Bobcat1 wrote, you can update to the latest version any time during your subscription is running.

You can get the update from the Norton Update Center: www.norton.com/nuc

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 Hungarian, Norton 360 v20.4.0.40, Norton Utilities 16, Symantec System Recovery 2013

As said if you Renew on line from Norton the new subscription is added on but you can upgrade to V5 without buying a renewal either by going to the Norton Update Center (or Check for New Version under Support on the N360 front screen) or by downloading a single file that we can give you a link to.

Depending on where you are located do watch the weekend flyers of retail stores etc (legitimate sources) since you can often by a licit copy much cheaper than renewing on line.

Here in the USA I know one store is selling N360 V4 3 PC version from Sunday 20 Feb for $19.99 and you can use that KEY to renew the subscription of your V5 when it is about to run out. But in this case with a new KEY the new time is not added on so do activate with the new KEY only a few days before your subscription runs out.

Just make sure that you match the Standard or Premier or Netbook version when you renew or buy since the KEYs are not interchangeable.

Hello All,

Thanks a lot for all the clarifications.

I think i will upgrade to V5.0 till the end of subscription period and then renew the subscriptions.

P.S I do not stay in the USA.

N360 V4 3 PC version from Sunday 20 Feb for $19.99 is a REBATE, and that usually never works. The sellers always findexcuse of why your documents qwere not correct or something wrong with your receit or  whatver excuse is. I know when Rebate is involved i, you almost never get your money back. better to have  Reward card at the store, so you get $ 40.00off.

Bobcat -- You are being very negative. Your blanket statement is absoutely untrue since I've never missed a rebate refund and more recently the ones from Norton have beeen coming through quickly and fuss free with the use of prepaid Gift Cards instead of paper checks.

And NO the prepaid gift cards are not a nuisance and you don't have to use them on Norton Products or lose out if what you buy is less than the face value of the card since the balance is still available and can be used with another such card -- all of which I've done including using on Amazon

BTW Another main dealer has it for $9.99 in their flyer this week .....
