Norton 360 backup failure

I currently have Norton 360 v5.1.0.29. I am having trouble completing a backup. I keep getting an error message that my "disk has failed". This happens regardless of type of disk. In the past, I have been able to backup files to a CD or DVD. How do I fix this. I desperately need to back up my files/pictures. Thanks!

Hello Mhill777,

 

When this error occurs,  is there a link displayed for you to follow?  Also,  have you restarted your system and tried again?

 

Please post back with your O.S version and what service pack is install and any other information you think is relevant.

The OS is Microsoft Windows XP Professional, service pack 3. There is no link or error code provided in the error message. It just says "The disk has failed. Replace disk and click OK to continue. Or click cancel". I have tried exiting and rebooting the system numerous times. I have even bought new DVDs to try. No success. I typically don't burn alot of CD/DVDs, but, disk player seems to function normally otherwise. Thanks!
