Hello there,
it happened to me already twice.
After virus definition update I was asked to restart PC, so I did so. But after restart Norton 360 disappeared - it doesn't react on clicking on it - nothing.
I had to download it again from web.
What's the problem?
I have Win7 64bit.
Will I have to always download and reinstall my Norton 360 after every restart because of new updates of virus definition have asked about restart?
Really, I don't understand that.
Error message I got from Norton 360:
Norton 360
6.1.2.10
Error: 8504, 101
Windows 7 Professional
7601.17790.amd64fre.win7sp1_gdr.120305-1505
Norton Autofix Results: 1 item(s)
Installation :: Restart Required
Norton did not fix it... I had to download it and reinstall it.
Thanks for answers

Hi poradek,
Here is the offical Norton "fix" for error code 8504, 101 https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp
This is not normal operation, however there has been other reports of similiar problems on Lenovo systems. Are you on a Lenovo system by chance?
Please let us know if you are on a Lenovo, and if the remove and reinstall worked?

In regards to the Lenovo. Please check to see if you have a RapidBoot (version 1.0) program installed. If so others have removed it totally and left it uninstalled, or removed it and reinstalled the updated version 1.12 Rapidboot and reported the problem was eliminated.
Please keep us posted.
