Hello Forum,
I just joined the forum, so hello everyone. This morning I downloaded the new Firefox version 3.5 and like others I see the Norton toolbar is missing. I have a nagging question that maybe someone can answer.Since the Norton Anti-Phishing toolbar is missing am I still getting anti-phishing protection as I was in Firefox version 3..0.11? Is the Firewall still OK? I see that Norton has still kept the Firefox Privacy Cleanup and it still indicates that anti-phishing is checked and on. Could anyone answer these questions for me? I'm running Windows Vista Sp2 64 with the Firefox 3.5 browser.
Thanks,
peh

I think the answer is no, as antiphishing was mediated through the toolbar.
The only workaround now is - use Internet Explorer.

Additionally, Carter_Briggs has posted an update to the Norton 360 board about Firefox 3.5 compatibility:

Stay tuned for further updates!

So it is going to take while mid August to resolve an issue with firefox 3.5. That is ridiculous, but anyway I have been having problems with security with the previous version of firefox for some weeks now, I knew there was something wrong with my computer going crazy. I have just switched to explorer 8 after the last few days having problems connecting to webpages, there were numerous oddities in security history. I think Symantec seriously need to get there act together. Also I noticed this morning on visiting this community board that a lot of people were venting their spleens as regards the firefox 3.5/norton issues, but it appears a lot of the posts have dissapeared. Why is this? Can you explain. There should be one open thread regarding this issue but it appears they have all been locked.

I went ahead and installed Firefox 3.5 the first day it was available, and then came over here and discovered that it is going to be a while before Symantec catches up; so, I went over to the Firefox forums looking for how to go back to 3.0.11. I found this thread http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.
What I did was uninstall Firefox 3.5 (retaining settings), reboot, install 3.0.11. The result is that everything is back to where it was(including the Norton toolbar) before the adventure began. I'll now wait for Symantec to release its patch before trying Firefox 3.5 again. Firefox 3.5 did seem to start and load pages quite a bit faster.
