the problem with norton crashing when people try to manage the rules in norton firewall seems to me that it is the grapical interface so the sheer number of rules make norton crash, this cold probely be resolved by making the rules list less grapical, or at least have the abillety to view it in a less grapical manner.
I got to this conclution because it stopd crashing when i reset the firewall to default, but this is probely not a permanent solution since the list will fill up as i run the different programs on my pc, and keeping deleting the list wold make the firewall useless.
I am also not shure this is a problem exclusivly to 64bit, this is just an asumption since i cold not find a single post where people spesified that they had 34bit but i found plenty where os was not specified.

Welcome to the club. This has been going on since last fall.

This does occur on 32 bit and 64 bit systems. The devs are well aware of this issue and are working hard to optimize the product to be more and more resourceful. While I'm not part of the dev team, I keep close watch on the performance benchmark results and I am excited to see the optimized product for the next major release.

James, does your post mean that this issue will be fixed in the "next major release"?

As I said, I'm not part of the development team, so I can't say when it will be fixed, but I know that these issues are a priority.
Even if I did know, I wouldn't be allowed to tell. :)

Come on.... This issue was first reported about 8 months ago.
