Norton 360 v6 - Stopping a Full System Scan looks like a Pause, not a Stop

I have Norton 360 version 6.1.2.10 installed.  Typically I run a Full System Scan each night, and usually all the way through to completion.  Last night, I "Stopped" the Full system Scan and "Finished".  This morning, I wanted to run a new Full System Scan, but the software re-starts at the file position as which last night's scan was Stopped.  The soaftware is acting as if the prior scan was "Paused" rather than "Stopped".  I closed Norton 360, then re-opened it; same result.  So then I re-booted my computer and tried it again, but same result.

Hi Swhite

Norton uses a method called Intelligent scanning to scan the files in a computer. Which means for eg:  it creates an index once it scans the files in your computer and the next time it matches the files in the computer at that instance and it'll scan the new files as well as if any modification has been done on an old file that file also get scanned, the remaining unchanged old files will be ignored from scanning. This will avoid the scan time.
