Not exactly. By default the Automatic Liveupdate feature under Settings -> Computer Settings -> Updates will be turned ON. This will enable your product to get all the updates automatically without the user manually trigger the LiveUpdate.
All the patches will be sent to the product through this LiveUpdate feature. So if you have Automatic LiveUpdate feature turned ON, then you dont have to run LU manually.
Hope this helps.

Hello Forum, I recently downloaded a patch for the Norton IPS 2.0.(Firefox 3.6.6) Is there a frequency to how many of these patches are delivered per month and do I need to manually run Live Update to receive them? Thanks, Paul
Hi Paul,
I think you are referring to the compatibility patches. We will deliver them only when we see a compatibility issue with any of the components on which our products work, for instance the firefox toolbar. A lot depends on how many issues we see in-field during that particular month/year. So, the frequency is not something that we can comment on.
