OK I Bought N360 V4

[ Edited ]

OK I bought N360V4 for one year. I still had over 270days remaining on my N360V3.

1.  My Norton Screen now says I have 366days remaining.

THAT MEANS NORTON OWES ME 270 DAYS!!!!!

2.  My Norton tool bar has moved and changed. My IDENTITY SAFE IS GONE. As Norton knows that is all the passwords and login names many of us cherish.

3. How do I move the NORTON tool bar to another line. EDIT I found answer.

4. I want Identity safe back on my toolbar. I do not want to click thru a bunch of things to get to it.

5. Why were these changes not sited anywhere as changes, so your customers could choose whether they wanted to not use Norton because these items are now dropped.

Loading V4 should have made me all happy to be a NORTON customer, that has not happened.

toolbar 1.JPGFor the folks who don't like toolbars taking up all the space; Some can be moved.

Here's how;

With Internet Explorer 7 click on the GEAR symbol and follow the option to unlock the toolbars

Please contact Customer Support (live chat is the fastest way), they will be able only to solve this.

Next time a new version comes, you do not have to rebuy it, until your subscription is valid, you can upgrade to new version FREE. To get the latest versions go to the Norton Update Center.

How did you upgraded to V4? Did you removed the older one first or just installed the new one over the old?

It's still on the toolbar. Maybe you have some error. Can you please upload a screenshot about it? It would help us a lot to see what you  have.

Re: OK I Bought N360 V4

With the toolbars unlocked click on the dashed - - - - vertical line beside the part of the toolbar line you want to move. Drag and drop it where you want it to go. I put mine up one line.

But what V4 has also removed is Identity safe ICON from the toolbars

The small circle is on the dashed line. The large circle is where IDENTITY SAFE LOG ON needs to be

Re: OK I Bought N360 V4

As can be seen in the above screen shot, there is no Identity safe icon. I did go to the configure page and see if I had to do anything, I logged on. When I go to a website that requires Identity safe to do it's job, it does not work, but I am logged on.

When I click on the start chat stuff I come to a screen that says click "run" I do that and nothing happens I end up in limbo. Nothing is running, or starting.

It seems to me an installation error.... It is possible that you have to reinstall the product.

To do it, follow these steps:

0. Go to the 360 Identity Safe options, and do a backup of your saved logins.

1. Download Norton Removal Tool (www.norton.com/nrt) and the latest Norton 360 version (www.norton.com/n360s_4 /Standard/ or www.norton.com/n360p_4 /Premium/)
2. Uninstall Norton 360 via Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
3. Reboot
4. Run the Norton Removal Tool 2-3 times to erase all the remaining files and registry keys (This will remove every other Norton products as well!!!!)
5. Reboot
6. Install Norton 360 by the downloaded setup package, and activate it with your product key
7. Run Live Update manually until you get no other updates

8. Restore the previously backed up Identity Safe logins in the Settings

When I click on the start chat stuff I come to a screen that says click "run" I do that and nothing happens I end up in limbo. Nothing is running, or starting.

You can do it in the built in Support tool via 360 too.

To do it Open Norton 360. Click on the Help & Support -> Get Support menu. Follow the instructions on the new window, and when it is available, click on the Contact us option, and select Live Chat. You have to give the Support guys some infos about your issue and contact infos, then you will be moved to a chat session with a Support guy.

Re: OK I Bought N360 V4

Following a lead about deleting temp files; I deleted everything under internet options in the general tab. I also did start, run %temp% select all delete to dump temp folders and more files. The only folder that would not delete was one with a part of Google search in it.

After all that, I restarted the computer.

The Norton toolbar had moved to its own line again but it did contain the "cards & logins Icon"

I know how to move the toolbar.

All that is left is to fix the subscription issues. I looked on my other 'puter and 360V3 has 249days left to run, so I need to get a 249days of V4 extention.
