Outlook 2007 hangs receiving last message on first use

[ Edited ]

Since I Outlook SP3 was applied a few weeks ago Outlook always hangs receiving messages on first use. Mostly it hangs on the last message saying x bytes received out of y bytes or soemthing like this. In fact the message seesm to be recieved OK and is in the inbox. Sometimes it seems to hang before receiving any messages.

The only way round I have found is to log off and log on again then everyting works and send/receive completes.

I wonder if this an N360 issue I have checked the pst file and other plug ins to outlook.

Hi MartinB,

If you think that this isssues can be fixed by disabling the Norton plugin.

1. Open Norton 360
2. In the Network and click Settings.
3. Under AntiSpam, next to Client Integration, click Configure.
4. In the Client Integration window, uncheck Outlook.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK for both the windows
7. Exit all the programs, and then restart the computer.

8. Check and see if the issue is still available.

To Re-enable AntiSpam Client Integration

1. Open Norton 360
2. In the Network pane, click Settings.
3. Under AntiSpam, next to Client Integration, click Configure.
4. In the Client Integration window, uncheck Outlook.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK for both the windows
6. Close Norton and then check Outlook.

Please let us know if you have any other issues.
