Program SystemDetect of Volatile

Hello

 Program SystemDetect of Volatile

I have a problem and I do not know if this is a spy or one of Products Norton?

I did not put any program on my machine!

When you search the Registry and found the following:

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Volatile \ SystemDetect]

Looked at the device did not find the program but this file only volatile.DAT

 The path C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Application Data \ Norton \ {#####-###-####-####-#############} \ N360_4.1.0.32 \ CmnClnt \ ccSetMgr

 Is there a risk?

 Please help!

 Thank you all,,,

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

From the path I would say it is a Norton file, but I will try to get you some info about it from the concerned Norton team.

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

[ Edited ]

Hello ilove360,

On my Win 7 x64 machine running NIS 2011, I have the same Registry Entry and a slightly different path to the file:

C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C....}\NIS_18.1.0.37\CmnClnt\ccSetMgr\volatile.dat

On my XP machines running N360 Beta and NIS 2011, I do not have the Registry Entry, but I do have the same path as you to the volatile.dat file.

Hope that helps!

By the way, how did you discover this registry entry?

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

Hello

I have the path for volatile.dat file and I also have the registry entry, but there are no values listed on my xp pro NIS 2011 18.5. computer.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

Thank you all

The problem still exists I hope to find a solution.
Obtained through the search On my regedit.

Author: Volatile
Software: SystemDetect
-------------------------
 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Volatile \ SystemDetect
------------------------------------------------------------

When Norton 4.0 updates I find the file exist?!

Are there effective assistance of professionals in a community norton forum?

I want to know more how to solve it? and What is this file and the program?

Of  Software: SystemDetect From Volatile

I think that for the program Norton But I think if NOT from norton the File is a virus or spyware Or something else undesirable!!!

Something amazing! Is there a solution?

 Please help.........

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

Hi,

we got some info from the Symantec Employees, but it's not much...

They told us it is legit Norton file and setting in the registry. Both is for storing volatile settings (aka these are kind of temporary things, but necessary ones), and it is rebuilt on every reboot of your system.

This is all we got, I hope this answers your questions. :)

Re: Program SystemDetect of Volatile

This key is legitimate; it is created by the scanning engine during a scan. As it is a volatile key, it gets deleted during reboot (to be recreated upon the next scan).
