Re: Norton 360 V2 vista sp1 support

[ Edited ]

And out of the blue I noticed my version of 360 v2 got updated to 2.3.0.9 so I was hoping that solved the powerdesk prob but it does not. It gives me an extra prob tho. I cannot put external control for my own pc off so it tells me in the network settings that my pc is at risk and I need to put in a key in order to find other pc's in my network with the same key (which it does not BTW) However the overall settings still say Im fully protected. Is this part of the update?

Can we have some sort of revision history here and how do I solve the network setting thing.

Late note: The key thing worked now but its still reporting my pc and the one made contact with is at risk. It also tells me Im at risk when I put external control off. What is external control actually supposed to do?

Re: Norton 360 V2 vista sp1 support

Hello Gumpster,

I'm not entirely sure I understand the situation. Can you walk me through it so I can attempt to reproduce it?

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Norton 360 V2 vista sp1 support

after the update to 2.3.0.9 I went to (the bottom left  in main screen)  my network. There it now says my pc is at risk and I must do a set up with a codename to find other computer(s)  in the network also having n360v2 with the same filled out code and only after that I can switch off external control (this is translated by me from my dutch version; may be in the english version its called diff) At first the pc' s were not found but when I did the set up on both (2 in my case) at the same time and it was succesful. In my network overview it now shows two pc's with a red cross on them and stating both are at risk whilst I have no idea what to do about it. Moreover when I switch off the "ëxternal control" (only possible after the set up I just explained) its still stated that my pc (and the other one in the network)  is at risk.

I dont know what "external control" does or is supposed to do anyway.

Hope ya get the situation now ; if not pls  advise

Hello Rob,

We were able to reproduce this in-house and are working on identifying the root cause. Please stay tuned for an update.

This thread is actually the same as the one by Rob_N about the red X (actually its a white X at a red background :-) )

indeed... reading closely i see now that they are related .     When I made that move last night I had scanned the first post and had the thread topic in my head as 'relating to powerdesk' and then jumped to the new post.   I actually remember jumping back to the first post and again not reading closely enough, because in my head the word "blue" in the first line referred to 'blue screen of death' and so I jumped back and moved the new post

Just goes to show mods are human and make mistakes just like everyone else. :smileysurprised:

Now I'll go send that post back to this thread and we can be back on topic.....

I have the same exact problem, glad to see it's not just me. :smileysurprised: It seemed like the Chat Technicians had never heard about this problem before and I started getting kind of hopeless after they couldn't do anything for me. Wish I had found this thread before I posted one of my own; the title is a little ambiguous. I hope you guys can find a solution soon. Here is the link to my thread if anyone is interested.

Re: Norton 360 V2 "At Risk"

[ Edited ]

I just switched from Microsoft Windows Live OneCare to Norton 360 v2 and I am having the same problem. It keeps telling me on my network map that "My PC" is at risk. However, I am green in all other areas of Norton 360. I have configured remote monitoring and the issue has not gone away. I have one other wireless PC on my network, which shows secured. My machine is wired into my Motorola Cable gateway.

I hope there is a fix for this soon.

EDIT: I am running Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3.
