I already have Norton 360 version 5.1...(the lastest) installed on (3) of my computers. My subscription expires in about
30 days, I purchased yesterday from retail Norton 360 version 5.0, instead of installing from the cd over what I have, can I just put in the new product Key code from the new product? I always buy and new CD, because I like to have to cd in case anything
happens and I have to reinstall. But I don't want to install a older version then have to do all the updating again to get to where I am now with my version 5.1, so was curious if I could just go to my settings where it says to renew subscription and enter the new Product Key code.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Yes, you do not need to install the Norton product from the CD. You can just use the new Product Key to activate the existing product.
Here are the steps to activate the existing product using your new Product Key:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
Start Norton 360.
On the bottom-right corner of the Norton product window, click Renew.
Type in your Product Key.
Click Next.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
When finished, review your subscription details, and then click Done.
However, if you do it today, you will lose the 30 days of subscription that you currently have. You can do it on the 29th day so that you do not loose the remaining subscription that you have in your current product.
