My son's Lap Top completely died and I cannot un-install Norton 360 from it. I got him a new Lap Top and I tried to re-install Norton 360 to see that I have exceeded my maximum PC's for this product. But of course, I have it installed on mine and my wife's as well. (3 PC Protection Pack) So, I called customer support, talked to a guy by the name of "Sheldon" to find out that they want to charge me $39.99 for a technician to re-activate my code for the one new computer. Are you really kidding me here? I have 81 days left and they want to charge me $39.99?
Sorry, but it seems ridiculous to me that this couldn't of been taken care of without a fee.

Norton 360 is a 3 user license product and can be installed in 3 computers at the same time. Its quite unfortunate that one of your computer is not working now.
Please intiate a chat session with Norton support and we will try to fix the problem for you.

Hi E_Gibbs,
There should not be a charge for freeing up an abandoned activation for use on a third computer. It sounds like you may have been in contact with someone other than Symantec Customer Support. Users sometimes end up at third party support sites that are not affiliated with Symantec when they look for tech support on Google. Try contacting Symantec through this link or the link given earlier by aalim:

Hello E_Gibbs
Did you buy your N360 at a legitimate location originally? If you bought your Norton product at a place like eBay, you might run into problems also.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

I bought the program from either Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Not sure which so it is legit. As far as a third party, probably so... Especially
when he said his name was Sheldon. All I could think of was the character on the show "Big Bang Theory".
Waited 30 minutes last night for a chat session then gave up. Going to try again.

On your previous wait -- were you contacting by Phone or using the online CHAT via the computer keyboard? Waits are not usually long for that although with the release of NIS/NAV 2012 (no not N360 yet) .....
