Norton 360

Hello,

Having some frustration. I got some kind of virus that wont let me open any applications in windows 7. Not even the Task Manager. So I can install Norton to deal with the virus. So I tried to boot from the disk which worked to the point where I say scan computer. Then it hangs. Specificly what it says on the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool is

Preparing Scan... and this little spinning icon on the left has been going for about an hour.

Total items scanned: 0

Total Risks Detected: 0

PLEASE HELP!!!

Also its on an HP Envy running Windows 7.

32 bit or 64 bit Windows,  What happens when you are trying to run programs in Windows??

Help, I'm having same problem. I cannot open any programs, and cannot get Norton to run, just hangs up when I try to scan when I boot from disk.

1. Does the Windows Desktop load correctly till it is waiting for a user to start using it.

2. Does Internet Explorer start??
