Setting up Scanning Schedule

My subcription will expire in less then 20 days, and the answer I'll get from this message will determine wheather I'll cintinue with my subscription or not.  This is my issue, I have been trying to manually set when norton 360 can conduct its scans. Currently they happen totrigger the afternoons-evenings on weekdays and everytime they start scanning they cause my long running Vb-net program to halt. PS, my programs run in excess of several hours every day; starring in the afternoons.

My question to the board is: Can I manually set the scans to occur on weekend at a time of my choosing? I need to set the time in Hour-minutes when the scanning should take place. Is this possible?

Thanks, Paolo

Re: Setting up Scanning Schedule

Hi Paolo,

My first qustion would be which scans are you trying to schedule?

I will guess at a Full System Scan

See if this helps:

Hi Paolo,

From the main page of N 360, please click on Support and then About.  What is the version number of your install.  Version 6.2.

1.5 is the latest version.  If memory serves me correctly, the cpapablility to set the time for full scans was not available in N 360 v5  (it could be done thru Task Scheduling in Windows).  However, in version 6 it is available as described in the link I provided.

If you do not have version 6.2.1.5, on the N 360 main page, please click on Support and then New Version Check.  This shuld check to see if you have the latest version and if not, download and install it for you.

If you use ID Safe, please backup (export) your ID Safe data as a precautionary measure.  That data shoujdl be transferred over to version 6, but it is safer if you make a backup first.

We'll be waiting on your answers.
