Hello, my name is James and found a very unexpected couple of messages from norton automatic anti-virus (in the bottom right corner) that told me of various attacks, one is not named and i can give you the reports when it attacks again. i get these messages telling me of a blockled attack at regular intervals and it started quite a few days ago and has been annoying me for a while. i did some research on the virus and found that it is "A tricky bugger to remove" because it uses some hiding techniques or something, so i conducted a full system scan using my norton software which came without the results i was expecting, it was not removed and i was still being attacked. I found some software called TDSSkiller which was a software by a proffessional company like synamtec and the software was specificly designed to target and quarentine or remove tojan.zeroaccess malware.
I then started seeing new ones like trojan.gen and trojan.zeroaccess(something i dont remember like RIB or REB at the end) so i looked at it and the norton report said it was in C:\\windows\installer\{"RAndoM} replace RANDOM with some random letters and numbers, so i deleted everything here (and ofcourse re installed things like my safari browser and itunes and microsoft things) and soon found that trying it manually didnt work.
I found a description of the trojans i had on the synamtec website that had a trojan.zeroaccess removing tool, so i got this and used it correctly various times and it still said that it too found nothing.
IN CONCLUSION: i have tried various differant techniques such as manual, differant scanners and specific scanners, i have done research on the trojan and as far as i know, it has done nothing to my PC thanks to norton auto protect, but the popups with a message of an attack concerns and worries me, i hope you know of a solution to remove it once and for all and wont miss the file as it is obviously still there after every scan and method i try. i do also have hidden files and folders on to help.
I hope you can tell me how to fix this and i will give you all the information you need!
~James
P.S. I was going to attach an image of some reports but i could get the history list to load up, i dont know why it wouldnt load, but if you want to see that (it includes the places of files and shows that i have trojan.zeroaccess and trojan.gen and maybe some others i think.

Here you go - it finally worked, in the top left you can see where it started and how big it is, the two at the bottom are random examples of trojan.zeroaccess and trojan.gen, then in the top right is my history, well part of it anyway.

This has also now prevented me from using Itunes (i dont know about other things, all of them that i use regularly work fine so far) i have reinstalled it and it still wont work, my windows 'Data Execution Prevention' or DEP for short. Shall i simply stop DEP from preventing the opening of iTunes or is this as a result of the trojans?

It has now totally effed up skype aswell!
I am scared to backup my files to my wireless external WD drive that i share with my family, is it possible that if i do perform a backup to this device it can spread across the backups there and my families PC's? (i know that trojan.zeroaccess cant multiply itself but i also have other viruses like trojan.gen and some others that i have no idea about... and the way it is corrupting me so far, i dont now how long it will be before i am forced to wipe my drive and restart all over again - PLEASE REPLY TO TELL ME YOU READ THIS!!! For that reason I am not doing this thread, You ahve played with what you do not understand with tools (unspecified) tweaked, deleted modified who knows,
There are areas you probably have not checked and why the likes of Itunes and any other programs including windows will not work. Good luck.
Also seeing as you have no idea for your own machine, there is no point really in helping another user with this problem on another thread.

That's right, nope, you have tried tools you shouldn't and manually doing things, you should, deleting folders you shouldn't, let alone any registry tweaks.
Programs you haven't tried, haha, you don't even list the some of the programs you have tried.
You should do on computers what you don't understand, to do so you become more dangerous than the infection itself.

this what was had terrible english :P i did list the programs i have done and i dont see why using the scanning services can disrupt it, i simply tested to try and find it, removing files manually didnt work so i put them back, i dont get why you cant just see that all i have done is scan and your terrible attitude forced me to restart my pc. You sir, are a dick.
