Would appreaciate all and any help. Thank you.Bob Or NEWBIE and I don't know which is proper.

Hi Bob and welcome!

You can safely test the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool without harming your computer.

Place the CD into the drive and then restart your machine.  This is what you can expect to see after the restart:

  1. A black screen will appear prompting you to "Press any key to Boot from CD.
  2. Next you will see a progress bar "Windows is Loading Files".
  3. The Windows logo will appear next followed by a background screen of yellow rays which will last for a short period.
  4. You will then be presented with the License Agreement. With an activated version of 360, the product key field should automatically populate.
  5. Now, you can accept the agreement and Continue on to the scan or click Quit which will restart your machine into normal mode.  The scan may take some time to complete, but it will fully confirm the disk is working as advertised.

Hope that helps!
