Norton 360

I already had a norton antivirus installed, but it expired so I bought a new one but it won't install. It won't even open to give me the option of installing, and when I open the computer devices, it doesn't show that the Norton disc is in. I have a Dell Inspiron 400

You can use the Norton Removal tool for unistalling the product.

I have personally dealt with a similiar problem in the past.  The solution:  run a good tool that cleans up the registry.   I actually ran a couple of tools, but in the end everything worked fine.

Since you are having troubles in installing using the CD , we always give an option to download the product from the internet.

Here we go with the complete steps to be performed.

1 ) Download the Norton 360 product using the links given below as per the version you have.CD label should ideally suggest if you have a standard or a premier .

2 ) Save these downloaded files into your desktop

3 ) Remove the expired norton product from add/remove programs which will ask you to restart the computer

4 ) Restart the computer

5 ) Start the installation using the set up file which was saved on to your desktop

6 ) Type in the product key you have when it asks for the same

7 ) Run the live update
