Updating from Norton 360

Hello, I currently have installed Norton 360v5 which expires in a couple days. To renew online they wanted about $79 for 360v6.

However, I was lucky enough to find NIS 2012 and Norton Utilities bundled together in a box store for $39.99 for both.

My question is do I need to uninstall the 360v5 before I install the new stuff? I have found conflicting reports and would like to know definitively.

To make it easier, if I do need to uninstall 360v5,  I don't need to back-up Identity Safe as I don't use it, I prefer to manually do passwords and shopping info, and I back up files to a WD MSD, not online.

What should my install entail?

Thank-you in advance.

Re: Updating from Norton 360

Hi,

It is better to uninstall the norton 360 manually either from control or by running the norton removal tool.

As Norton 360 5.0 is advanced product compared to norton internet security, In the uninstallation process if it is not properly removed, It may slow down you computer. So my suggestion is you remove the norton 360 v5.0 first and after restarting the computer, Install the Norton Internet Security.

Thanks,

Murali.
