What is the "20111203-009-v5i32.exe" file?

[ Edited ]

I just noticed that I have this file -- 20111203-009-v5i32.exe -- on my desktop.

I' not sure, but I believe it may be related to a Norton 360 update I did where I was requested to manually download the file to my computer and run the program/file update again.

  • Can anyone verify that this is what it's for (e.g. virus definitions)?
  • and can I delete it -- now that the program is updating normally (Live Update and automatic definition updates)?

Thanks, David

Hi David,

Its actually an intelligent updater file which you should have downloaded from Norton Site for the webprotection definitions.

You can very well delete it as it doesn't have any impact on the product now and as you told LU donwloads the definitions for you but even in case if you have any issues you will download the new exe only from our site and this old one will not help anyways as it is outdated.
