Windows 7 Action Center alerts for Norton 360

Windows 7 Action Center shows Norton 360 reports spyware, virus protection and firewall all turned off. I click ‘Turn on now’ which opens Norton, the settings show all protections are turned on. I have the latest version of 360. Have done full scan including using Norton Power Eraser & no viruses found. I don’t know if I’m protected or not, any advise?

Thanks Dave, worked a treat. Did do a search but didn't come up with that particular thread. Much appreciated.

Re: Windows 7 Action Center alerts for Norton 360

sorry, back again. It did work the first time then I switched off to go out, when I got back booted up & action center came up with same messages. I went through the same procedures as before but this time it hasn't got rid of messages.

Jean

Re: Windows 7 Action Center alerts for Norton 360

Can you confirm that when you open n360,  you see Protected listed in all four sections?

Thanks,  Dave.

OK Jean,

You may not like this option,  an uninstall/reinstall worked here.  If you would like to give this a go,  please backup your identity safe data.  Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool.  Remember to run Live Update,  rebooting as required until no more updates are available.

There is another option that I would not take.  If you look at the picture in your first post,  there is an option to turn off messages.

The choice is yours,  unless anyone else has a better idea.

Please let us know how you go.

Thanks,  Dave.

Hi Dave

I did the uninstall/ reinstall as suggested & have rebooted several times, everything so far OK. I had thought of just turning off the notifications in Action Center but assumed they were there for a reason so wanted to resolve the problem completely.

Thanks for your help.

regards

Jean

PS

sorry for length of time it's taken but at download speed of 65kb/sec these things take time, hazard of living in the English countryside, rubbish broadband service but still charged the same price as someone who gets 100 times that speed.

Re: Windows 7 Action Center alerts for Norton 360

Hi Dave,

I wonder if you would be able to help me with this?

I have tried almost all the steps explained in the Norton Community but it still does not work for me.

I have tried rebuilding the repository directory and restarted the service for the action center but again when I do a restart it all comes back to normal. It was all fine in version 5 but since I have updated to v6, this has started happening.

Is there anything else I can do?
