Windows 8/360 Issues

ScanFail.JPGN 360 20.2.0.19, final customer retail release of Windows 8.  From the Desktop (non-metro)

Problem 1: From the Tasks screen if I try to run a Full Scan, Liveupdate, Backup and Optimize run but

NOT the Scan.  There will be a red X on completion next to Scan.  If i try to run a Quick

                     Scan nothing happens

Problem 2: From the Tasks screen if I click on Check Security History, nothing happens.

However, if I go to the Check Norton Tasks page I can run the scans from there OK

Diagnostic Report is clean, as well as Auto Fix

[ Edited ]

That was Win 8 Pro, 32 bit

Also, for the first several minutes of the Full Scan, my fast PC slows to unusable.  Since running the way that I am forced to, I can't tell what operation is in place during the slow down.

Re: Windows 8/360 Issues

For some reason running Norton Power Eraser fixed the problem even though this was a clean OS and 360 install.

Re: Windows 8/360 Issues

I also just updated to Win 8, reinstalled 360 and tried to manually run a scan. 360 states that the product is inactive. I checked the main window of 360 and it states that it is active!!!

Any ideas?

Re: Windows 8/360 Issues

In my case I did not check the active/inactive status so I do not know if it is the same issue.  When I tried to run manual scans, nothing at all happened and there was no message.  I had Symantec support take over and they could not run manual scans either until they ran Norton Power Eraser.  I was supprised to see that running it did not require a reinstall of 360.
