I had to reinstall norton 360 a number of times because of problems but that's not the basic problem. When I start windows 8 and the screen appears with all the various programs, I noticed that I have about 4 different norton 360 programs; some with icons and other with just folder icons. I once tried to delete one of the entries and was forced to reinstall norton 360 again! How do I know which program is the operative one and which are just not operative?? Wish windows 8 would do auto delete in this section when files are changed but it doesn't or at least I might not know how to do it. Can any one help me identify the working norton 360 and others listed that are not working? PS: hate windows 8 and really need help with this. Thanks in advance.

I just got this laptop, Windows 8 and both my family and I are using it. Since I installed Norton 360, I left it alone and let my family use it. Recently I decided to scan it and it won't scan both quick and full. I tried full, but it skips the full scan and just does the tune up. Can anyone please help me?
Edit: I used the Malewarebytes software and nothing came up.
Edit 2: I used Power Eraser and nothing popped up neither. But when I tried to use the full scan again, it did went through. What's going on?

Since I upgraded to Windows 8, the version of Norton Security Suite provided by Comcast installs and runs fine, until the next day when I get messages that I turned off everything and I need to reactivate the program. Happens over and over again.

So I was browsing around the internet to reinstall Gimp. I went to a website to where I had thought to have downloaded it. While it was halfway through the download, my Norton Security Suit went off and told me that it blocked the Trojan named "dns.exe(Trojan.Dropper)". While I thought this was the only problem on my computer that it detected, when I was browsing my DA I noticed that some text was underlined in red. When I hover above the text it showed these two malicious sites. (IM sorry that I don't know there names. But I did delete them via Programs and Features, although one of them did add something else to my computer in exchange for itself to be deleted). After that, I couldn't figure out how to delete it or add it to the quarantine section of my security suit. So please can you tell me how to delete this program and if it can still cause harm to my computer even if it is blocked?
Sorry if this was posted to the wrong fourm. I apologize.

how do I stop the Comcast pop up for Constant Guard?? I did not install this software, it is not resident. Comcast has specifically told me that Norton is sending me these pop ups on behalf of Comcast ?? Here's the actual chat session:
BERNICE: COMCAST IS SENDING THESE POP UPS, THEY CAN STOP THEM AND THEY HAD BETTER BE STOPPED ASAP!
Juneil: I understand how you feel, Bernice. Since Norton has partnered with Comcast, most Norton software have with them Comcast-related ads. Perhaps that's the main reason why you're receiving pop-ups. While Norton Security is included in the Constant Guard protection suite, you have the option to download and install the Norton Security software only.
I do not want to use Comcast to download Norton, I renew directly with Norton yearly.
Thanks in advance for any additional info.

Norton 360 affects any screen saver I run. If I use "Ribbons" or "Mystify" (that are given free with Windows), a minute or so after they kick in they disappear. If I run "KaleidoMorph", after around the same length of time the screen goes black and the taskbar appears. The music remains.
I confirmed this by uninstalling Norton 360 and the problem vanished. Reinstalled it and the problem returned.
I can run any of the screensavers in trial mode without a problem. It's only when the screensaver is activated by idle time that the problem occurs.

Please help. I have two computers running Windows 7 and Norton 360 Premier. Both have orange exclamation points in the Tune Up area. The message is "your PC requires disk optimization to improve performance". When I click on FIX NOW button, disk optimization begins, then stops. The tuneup screen that shows the action of the optimization shows a red error X. When I click on details, I get a screen that lists the message below.
The message is System Reserved Drive: Optimization is not required. Current disk fragmentation is 8%
Second is:Drive E: Optimization is not required. Current disk fragmentation is 0%
Third message is: System Reserved Drive Error: optimization is not completed
How do I fix this?
Thank you whomever comes up with the winning answer!

Just installed Norton 360. While running virus scan, it locks up at about 4,000 files scanned, then just sits there. When trying to stop the scan, it says it stops, but the screen will not click off. Only a restart gets rid of the Norton screen. And, now it says I need to fix a problem. But, nothing works. Ran NPE, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks

My norton 360 premier will not recognize my external hard drive, though my system does. I have done a backup in the past, but am unable to do so at this time. Please advise.

Having upgraded my Norton 360. I have been having problems with Norton Firewall staying on. What do I have to do to remedy this? This happens way to often since I upgraded Norton 360. If you can find an answer you are doing good to your problem that is.

Strangest thing is happening now, and I've tested it multiple times with restarts and/or logon/logoff. Whenever I start Outlook 2013, the tray icon for Norton 360 disappears, and I am unable to run the program at all. The vault in the browser also says "Setup Vault" instead of Open or Closed. There were recent updates to Outlook 2013, and I believe there is an incompatibility.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I always have to install the 32-bit updater when this happens to get norton back on its feet.
this is getting to be a habit.

Getting a message in the activity center that spyware is off and network firewall is off (both Windows and Norton 360). So I clicked to reset and not a thing happens. When I go to the Norton dashboard on my desktop, it shows the firewall is on. I checked and see that Windows did several security updates in the past few days and I'm sure that it interfered somehow, but I don't know whether the firewall is actually on or off since Norton says it is and Windows says it's not (and I'm not able to proceed further). Anyone now what is going on here? And how to fix it? I'm running Windows 8 and it's kind of lame how Norton and Windows 8 can't seem to work together. I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

I just renewed my subscription to Norton 360.
They say I am currene.
When I open Norton 360 "old version" it says I need to upgrade,,,which I did.
Is there another Norton somewhere in my Windows8 that is new?

Does anyone know what has happened to Norton Support? I believe it has gone to the dogs.
I can no longer reach them by phone nor chat, and they have removed the Email option from their website. One of their support supervisors furnished me with his email address, but he ignores my emails which only request support for norton 360.

I have a current subscription (online) to Norton 360 and am attempting to re-install it on my computer, but the website (after accessing my account) won't allow it (no "download" button). What can I do?
I sent several email requests, and tried to get hold of the Helpdesk by phone, but gave up after 1.5 hours wait time.
Are all anti-virus companies like this?

Since I restarted my comptuer today, Norton has blocked pretty much every website I tried to visit. I always get the message saying that this connection is untrusted. I get the options of adding an exception, or leaving that site. Apparently it is because the certificate of the site cannot be verified. This occured on sites such as google, facebook, etc. Even while visiting the norton forums! I restarted once again, and now, even windows update isn't able to work. I believe that norton is for some reason blocking my programs. A scan with malware bytes yielded no results.
The browser I use is firefox, and my norton 360 version is 220.127.116.11
EDIT: FIXED: It seems the problem was with my computer time. It got changed somehow, and it caused some pretty severe problems.

I am frustrated! I have used the Norton 360 and the Vault for over 2 years now and never had a problem, until recently. Every time I try to log into my vault it says "opening" and then a couple minutes later it says "you session has timed out, please make sure your internet connection is secure" (or something to that affect). Please help me get this fixed, I do not like that it no opening. I have NOT changed emails, internet providers, computers or anything. I cannot even change my password without getting in.

Please be aware that a person is calling stating that user is due a refund, because Norton is closing down. For some reason in the state of Georgia, he wanted my account number in order to process the refund. This did not sound correct to me because the company is Symantec not Norton, so I asked the scammer what's the name of the company and he hung up. Please pass this information on. I think they are targeting the elderly, because they called my mother's phone & I answered the call.
