ccsvchst.exe hog

I'm having a problem all of a sudden where ccsvchst.exe is taking nearly 50% of my cpu.  Reboot, disable, enable, nothing works.

Any suggestions?

Re: ccsvchst.exe hog

You could try to

switch off Norton Product Tamper Protection in Settings

reboot

and then switch on Norton Product Tamper Protection again

If this does not help:

a) backup / export your ID Safe logins

b) uninstall + reinstall your Norton product

Cheers,
Jo

Re: ccsvchst.exe hog

I tried  tech support, they used logmein to get access to my pc, it did not work.  I tried the tamper solution and that did not work.   I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I went 24hrs with no cpu hogging.  Thanks!  Great suggestion!

Soved it seems Re: ccsvchst.exe hog

Have had 360 for months.  After Norton's last upade ccsvchst.exe started hogging.  Went to Norton site.  Downloaded lastest version (which I thought updates had been doing.)    6.2.0.9.    Installed.  Rebooted.  So far so good.  We'll see if it lasts.

Point: their network "10 mintues to call you back."  They never called - it is an hour and a half later.

What bothers me about this ccsvchst.exe problem is that at the start (from reading the threads)  they gave all sorts of reasons why but seemingly with Norton never being at fault.  And we are suppossed to have confidence in them to protect us?

Been satisfied with them for years but their response to all this seems a little shoddy.

Hope this helped.
