I had 360 last year. Today bought 360 again. I don't know how to install it; the sample on Norton's site says to open it on my computer, but it's not there. My desktop has 2 icons 'install norton 360' but clicking that leads to uninstalling it. The order confirmation I received is no help - can't click on anything there. been in line for chat support for 6 hours. I'm so confused. Please help an old low-tech gomer.
Thanks so much for any help.

I mistakenly said it says to open it - it says to start Norton 360. How? the desktop icons are all I have, and they go to uninstall mode.
Thanks again.

Thank you for replying. But there is no where to enter any key. I can't start or open 360 - no where to be found. If I click on the icon on my desktop, it wants to uninstall.
Dealing with Norton is ok if all goes well, but if there's a snag, it's a nightmare.

Firstly on the going to uninstall mode -- I've seen a reference to this regarding another Norton application and it appears that if the product is not installed the running that file should install it; but if it is installed already (perhaps corruptly) then the same file will commence the uninstall mode.
Have you tried letting that uninstall mode run through to completion?
However what I would do is to start all over again.
First of all get the Norton Removal Tool by clicking on that link and download it to a folder on your PC (I prefer this to using the desktop since i can find it more easily and it does not clutter up the desktop with an accumulation of files I may want later on). Print out the instructions on that page for reference and note what it says about this tool removing all Norton applications, not just the one you want to so don't use it if you have other Norton applications installed -- tell us.
I made a folder C:\Internet Downloads and once you use that to download to Windows will remember and use it again unless you change it.
Then while you are at it go to this page and download N360 V2
You may have to click on a yellow bar to begin the download and watch for a screen that asks if you want to Run or Save. Choose the Save option and it should come up pointing to that Internet Downloads folder.
Then after you have downloaded both, run the Norton Removal Tool and follow the instructions on the page you printed and on screen.
After it has cleaned up and restarted your PC, if you have any other security or antivirus applications turn them off and then locate and double click on that N360 file you downloaded and let it install.
Hopefully that should give you an operational installation.
Say if you have any questions -- it would be a good idea to tell us what version of Windows you are using including Service Packs.
