Hello,
Been trying to find a phone number to call for help since I have Norton 360 and I still wasn't protected by this rogue antispyware thing... this fake antivirus program installed itself onto my laptop causeing my computer to freak out and get fake popoups saying I have like 32 viruses and these popups wont go away.. and I keep getting interenet explorer opening to porn websites! I scanned norton 360 and it wont find anything.. I looked up this problem online and there are solutions to get rid of this "Antivirus Soft" program but my computer can't run the programs for me to get rid of it... I'm really upset.. I wish I had a number to get one-on-one help with someone from Norton 360... anyone know what virus this is and how I can get help or remove it?

The person has written in such away that stating that with the infection(s) (maybe combo hit) that the browser opens to porn sites,
No surprise to people in the know, there are Malware that installs, infects a PC then redirects to porn sites when the browser is started instead of the homepage, or when active the malware creates porn shortcuts on the desktop.
So you can't state "and you should stop watching porn monika .."
That sounds like the law with those teachers where school PC's were infected causing porn popups etc. then the teachers get fired or have to go though the courts, when then experts went though after and found it was due to Malware.
I Just tested Malware and had 3 porn shortcuts on my desktop with little icons.

Well I Find Malware removal instructions a serious business, usually requiring step by step breaking and simplicity, as usually if they ask on a forum they are not the easy ones or are combo's .
You can have fun on the side but not within the instructions, as that can screw things up. What if I gave instructions or details with "and delete "atapi.sys" The user comes back eventually saying, "Now Windows won't load"
I then say Oh that bit was meant as a joke.
It's not a good idea to treat people PC's in that way,

Thank you!
Actually the weirdest thing happened.. Norton suddenly decided to work and took out the virus... its all gone.. even had one of my computer nerd friends (haha) take a look to make sure and he said it was clean. :)
And yes, I'll lay off that porn.. ;) haha
thanx once again.

Hello monikalopez
I'm glad your computer is clean now. If you consider your problem as solved, would you please mark the post that gave you the solution even if it was your own.? That way, everyone will know what the solution is and that the thread has been solved. Thank you.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Hi, I'm a new user and I have this same problem, and Norton does nothing to detect this fake 'antivirus soft,' how long did it take for Norton to recognize it and remove it? Can I rely on Norton to take care of it or should I find another way of getting rid of this stupid thing?

Its rather annoying when Norton FAILS to detect rogue programs they really need to look into rogue programs and threats.
