Did you checked it on Amazon, or at a local store? Sometimes you can find in them Norton products cheaper.

Re: renewal price too high norton 360

I agree ...... why does Norton charge so much for renewal of subscriptions ?

It's cheaper to rebuy the product from a store which obviously includes packaging and the stores price mark up ..... this doesn't make sense ..... loyal customers appear to mean nothing;

I have also used Norton products for a fair few years

Renewing on line is totally not the way to go. "Renewing" the subscription is really a misnomer. You buy the product again every year. I'm not saying that's a bad or a good thing, it just is what it is. And buying on line, you are charged full price.

Look for the product on sale at one of the electronics or office supply retailer chains. They frequently put 360 and other software on sale.

I paid $40 the year before last, and this year, one of the big office supply stores had 360 V2 on sale for $20 the day after Thanksgiving. I bought 2 copies so I'm set for later this year when my subscription runs out, and next year!

Re: renewal price too high norton 360

Thanks for your reply Zathros.

I would still like to hear comments from some of the symantec staff and hopefully I can get a reply to my own post (see link above) regarding the price for one extra key .....

Nortons own advert says "save money and buy an extra key when you need one" and yet the price that came up when I tried to buy cover for an extra pc was £55.00.

To renew cover for 3 pc's the price is £55.00 (well £54.99 to be exact) .... where is the saving ... where is the logic ?

Could I ask Zathros .. when you buy the program over again instead of renewing do you just enter the product key ... do you leave the current installation intact ?

Re: renewal price too high norton 360

Yes. 360 can remain installed on the computer. It's not necessary to uninstall and reinstall it.

I forget just where, probably in My Account (I am not at my home computer with 360 on it at the moment), you can enter your new product key before your subscription expires, and it will record that information to your Norton account and you will be able to use 360 uninterrupted for another year.

In fact I think your Norton account is smart enough that if you enter your new product key, it will not begin the clock on your new subscription until your old one expires. So you don't need to wait until the last day of your current subscription.

However if you do let your subscription run out, I don't believe there is a way to enter a new product key from your expired 360. The My Account link goes inactive, and only the Renew link remains active. And that only takes you to where you can order a new copy online.

Re: renewal price too high norton 360

Again thanks for the reply.

I was wondering whether many customers are aware of the "automatic renewal" procedure now in place when you buy certain Norton Products online or renew a subscription online?

Customers are entered into an "automatic renewal" program *by default .... when your product is about to run out it will take the money automatically for a new subscription.

*Please correct me if I am wrong about this?

Customers should be sent an email about this when they make their original purchase ...... but I wonder how many think the email is a standard "thanks for your recent purchase" type of email and don't read it thoroughly.

Symantec will of course let you opt out and refund anyone who didn't want the auto renewal, ... but shouldn't this be an "opt in" feature ?

There's information about this here;
