symlcrst.dll

Hey guys,

I've been noticing my computer has been running slow of late. I tried several times to run a comprehensive scans with Norton 360 (5.0) but every time it stalls.

I then ran the scan to check programs to be trustworthy, and symlcrst.dll came up with a poor rating. I tried to quarantine it, and the 360 froze.

Any ideas? I suspect the file may be corrupt/damaged.

Re: symlcrst.dll

In the details of the File Insight report, was the file from Symantec?  The poor rating was most likely due to the relatively small number of Norton users with this file (assuming the file is only in N360v5).  You should restore the file IF it is part of N360.

Re: symlcrst.dll

Can you restart the computer in Safe Mode and then run a Full System Scan?

Let us know the results. When the computer runs slow, check the Task Manager for the process which consumes more CPU usage and memory.
