So I just realised my Norton Account is for an old version of Internet Security I had on my old PC; it has nothing to do with this problem. BTW, this is a brand new Galaxy Note and I must have downloaded with NMS with the free NAT or the trial of NAT; I honestly cannot rememer now. I just would like this problem fixed ASAP as it is very frustrating to be locked out of your won device for no apparent reason.
Please help me...

Hi again Kamonechan
Just to add a bit more info to assist you.
With NMS and and NAT installed on your device i ask if you did activate and register NAT because
there is a way for us to help you unlock the devcie by using NAT.
If NAT was activated and registered use the same email address and password used to now login
to the NAT website here.using a computer with those details.
For this process to work you will have to make sure you have a data signal available to your device.
Select Lock Device in the NAT UI and then enter a passowrd or pin which you will have to use with
the Lockscreen that you will see on the screen of the device when it receives the Remote Lock
Command from the NAT website UI.
Enter the pin or password into the new Lockscreen and you should now have unlocked your device.
I will also add you might have to turn the device on and off a few times before the device receives the
remote lock command from NAT.
Then you can log back into the NAT website and select Found It.
Let us know if you require more assistance with this issue.![]()

Thanks for your prompr reply. As I mentioned in my earlier email, I have an old Norton account for my old PC, which has nothing to do with my GN device. I don't rememer if I have the NAT registered on my device or not; I just remember downloading it as a free 90-day trial on the Andriod market soon after I got my phone and that's about it...
Not sure why all of my usual passwords are not working either. The 90 day free trial is due to expire around the 25th of this month. If I just wait until the free trial expires will all the anti-theft lock functions be disabled and then can I (will NAT let me?) access my phone again? I don't mind waiting until then if it means that I don't have to do a factory reset. This is currently my second phone but will be used as my main phone starting from April when I will travel in Europe, so I definitely need to fix this problem before then, and the sooner the better...
I was up for the better part of last night trying to remedy this, and I think I've read up all I can on it on forums etc. So now I'm just relying on help from Norton Tech support to resolve it. Please advise on what to do next...
Thanks
Nikki

What about if I install NAT plug in from Google Play website on my MAC (which registers my device and has my apps listed on it except for NMS which I cannot see in the list...), Will it then be installed on my GN if I connect it to my MAC via Kies? Then can I log in via the NAT website and do what you recommended before to unlock my phone?

Hi Kamonechan
Sorry did not reply earlier i have been flat out all day today with heaps happening.![]()
So lets have a look at what is happening so far with your issue-![]()
From what i know NAT has never been a 90 trial app it has only been free for users of the full paid
version of NMS not the free version from Android Market or now known as Google Play.![]()
And you cannot install NAT via Google Play on your Mac and push thru the install to your device
and activate it, that will not work.![]()
Even if there were a trial of a subscription and it ran out if the devcie is locked as far as i know it
would remain locked until the password or pin is entered, or in this case if a buddy texted the word
unlock to the locked device.![]()
So it is down to Buddies as i have been really busy today there is one thing to try which slipped my
mind and that is when you look at the lockscreen on your GN do you see on the screen Unlock Help.
Select this and you should be given the list of Buddies that you used to set up the Anti-Theft features
of NMS.
So if you know the Buddies name then perhaps you will have the phone number in your other
phone as the GN you say is your second device. Then you can contact your Buddy and ask them
to SMS the word unlock from their mobile to your locked GN. Normally selecting one of the names
from the list of Buddies will allow you to ring them but as you say your Sim has expired then that is
of no use to you :-( So perhaps if you look for a name that matches one in the Buddies list you
could try and contact them with your other phone and get them to try the unlock SMS text...![]()
Let us know how you go.![]()

Thank you for your promtp and detailed reply despite being so busy. I understand what you are saying, but I don't think the Buddy system is going to work for me and I cannot see the help screen that you mentioned. So I bit the bullet and just did a factory reset which seemed to work as I now have my phone back.
I will slowly reset it up again over the next few days and sorry to say will not be installing NMS or NAT on it again just in case...
I appreciate your help though. Thank you again!

Hi Kamonechan ![]()
Sorry i could not be of more assistance.![]()
But it is good to hear that you have your phone back now.![]()
If you do ever decide to use Nortons Android security NMS and NAT make sure
you make note of any password used and utilise all the Buddies available and
try not to rush with any of the settings for the security application features.
Otherwise all the best and don't hesitate in the future to use Norton Community
Forums for assistance with Symantec Norton products, as we are all glad to help.![]()
