Why does it show on settings that my kid is 18 when in the profile I'm have him set up ad being 15 by the birth year? If he is logging on as 18 IM not getting alerts.

Hi Parent,
That means the kid registered his or her Facebook account as age 18. Norton Online Family monitors the registered age on the social networks.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Katie

We had our computer misconfigured as though our child was using the parents' account, and we got a ton of notifications that the child was reporting an age on FB when in reality I was looking at various user profiles (including my own) and it was reporting the age from the profiles I was looking at. Is there a way to fix this? Also is there a way to scrub all the old notifications and start again on this?

Hi Parent,
Could you post a screen shot of the child's Social settings at Settings -> Social?
If the child is 18 in the Settings, then the child may be misconfigured.
Thanks,
Katie

Hi davemackey,
The parent and child should use different windows accounts, otherwise the parent activity will be reported the child.
You can scrub old notifications by clicking “select all”, and “Remove Selected” on the Alerts page.
Thanks,
Katie

I have my kid on his own windows password. I have him set up in the configuration as being born in 1994. I have received notice in past when friend logged in under his password and entered 18 under his account.
