Hi JanineMorris,

 

After you restart the PC and log onto the PC as the monitored child,

 

1. do you see any other activities, like time restrictions monitored?

2. do you still see the Norton Safety Minder icon in the system tray active (not disabled)?

3. do you see the child's profile online is protected (in green)?

Hi katieQ,

Yes, both the childs computer and mine give alerts for time restrictions.

My childs computer has Norton internet security - Secure and green.

Logging onto Norton from my child's computer, using my email and password, the Norton Online family syste, status - no updates for the last seven days. (even though the computer has been used).

Have just checked the search engine on my childs computer and it can search for xxx and have images and videos available for her to watch.

This is despite pornography being ticked on the site category i do not want to to access.

I do not think that (apart from time restrictions) norton is working to protect my children.

Hi JanineMorris,

 

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall Norton Safety Minder to see if it helps?

 

Please also make sure you log onto the PC using the child's Windows account as the monitored child when you test it.

Hello,

 

I am  having a very similar problem. The activity is logged when the laptop is at the house however when it is not here there is no activity logged. I have checked his frequenly visited websits and can see that he did infact login to the sight at such and such a time and he did infact confirm that he was there. But never the less there has been no activity reported for that time. 

 

What is even more confusing is that I am not recieving any alerts that it has been disabled. 

 

However once he was back home with the lap top I got on and visited a few web sites and the activiy was logged as it should be. It's leading me to believe that he has found a way to disable the software but If it's being disabled shouldn't  I atleast be recieving a notice?

 

And yes I have checked all the settings. As far as I know he does not know the password. And since it functions at home I have no reason to believe it is not functioning elsewere.

 

Please help as this has been and ongoing problem I even uninstalled over the weekend reinstalled double checked my setting and used the lap top my self to be sure the Activty was being logged.. I assumed  as I have before that I had fixed the issue. But sure enough since Sunday night none of his activity has been logged.

Hi sreppert,

 

To avoid and limit the possibility to tamper/disable the system, please give non-administrative rights (limited or restricted) to your child’s  user account Otherwise,  the child would have the ability to tamper the program.   

 

Please also make sure the child doesn’t log onto the PC using a account that is not being monitored. If he logs onto the laptop as an unmonitored account, activities will not be logged.

Am having all above issues with activity not or only partially logged. This is on MY laptopwith no tamperting.

 

Something is very wrong.
