Safety minder is preventing us from downloading any attachments from Yahoo Mail Beta provided thruogh Verizon's Fios service.  We are running Windows 7 and IE8.0

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a fix?

If you turn off Norton Safety Minder, does it work?

What about allowing more categories? How locked down are your set of categories?

Can you describe in more detail the behavior you are seeing?

Do you see a norton block dialog or something that indicates that requests are being blocked?

I'm afraid I don't know how to deterine the version of the Yahoo Mail Beta.  It is the webmail service provided through mail.yahoo.com

Do you use Verizon TrueSwitch™ email service?  I do not, I never heard of it.

What Security programs do you use on the PC with Norton Safety Minder installed?  I use Norton IS 2010 on the machine in question.

To answer your questions.

If I uninstall safety minder I can download attachments fine.  With in in place the last IE Security dialog box that warns you that web contact is going to run in some program never appears.  Without safety minder you have to click allow in this box to complete the download.  With safety minder you don't get the chance.

It blocks all accounts on the computer, mine as well as my son's and since it isn't supposed to be controlling mine I don't think it is the categories.

We've been able to reproduce this problem. We believe that this issue has been resolved in the next version of our Safety Minder Client, which should be released very soon.

That is promising.  Will I be notified of the update's release so I can reinstall Safety Minder on my son's new laptop?

You will not be notified, updates happen automatically in the background.

We will post something to the forum noting an updated version when it is released.

THe only problem with that logic is the fact that we had to uninstall the safety minder in order to use email so there won't be any automatic downloads coming.

Any other thoughts?
