I have OnlineFamily working on one computer, now trying to get it working on my computer as my children have accounts on it as well. Both machines are running Mac OSX 10.6.3.
On my machine I associated the children's accounts with their OnlineFamily accounts and then tried it out. It said it was active but when I tested it did not block anything.
I rebooted for good measure and tried again. Still no joy. I then checked the account associations and the user I was trying showed up as unassigned. Again I tried to assign the user, again it said it was doing it and again I went back in only to find it says "unassigned".
So right now I have one account that is associated and working an another that refuses to do so.

Slight progress... now when I associate it keeps the association, however when I test the account nothing is being blocked. The other account that was working before is still working - sites are being blocked.

Having Mac issues as well....
When you log into NSM website to view activity etc, is the email and password identifcal to that you use when selecting "Edit Accounts..." from Norton quick menu (Norton Safety Minder => Edit Accounts...). If for whatever reason there's a difference, Mac doesn't really refresh house rules. Therefore, whatever rules are in place when you first installed will remain. Not sure if account wrong in first place if it validates, or defaults to no blocking.
Anyway, not sure if this is your issue. Trying to be helpful...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am sure that is not my issue. I have one account that is working fine. I have just checked the "problem" account and noticed it again is listed as "unassigned"!

No its not. I have also set up on an other computer with no issues, and as I mentioned one user is set up fine on my computer. Its just this one particular user that refuses to associate.

After you assign the user on your Mac, do you then select "Update house rules" or do you let that happen automatically? Also, after you do the association, if you go to the OnlineFamily.Norton website, does it show the account as being associated? Have you tried associating from the website, and then updating house rules, instead of doing the association from the menu?

I am looking at the web site and although it says he is not protected on my computer it does not list his account for me to associate him.
It has all the other accounts on the machine listed but it is as if this one account does not exist.

I am having trouble getting the user accounts to stay associated with Norton Safety Minder. With 3 other home machines, all Windows 7 x64 things are working fine. WIth a XP SP3 32bit machine I cannot get the user account to stick after uninstalling and reinstalling a couple times. This is an Active Directory household.
When I assign the users to the machine, they show indactions that they are bing uploaded to the online account, but then they fail to associate, a red X shows on the paw icon.
