Why are you trying to uninstall?

When you try to uninstall what do you see?

Do you see the password screen?

What happens when you put the proper credentials in?

I had to do a system recovery and lost all my settings.  I got the email that Minder was turned off.  That was when I realized that the program was not working. 

I show that Norton safty is on my computer ONLY through the START window.  NOT on the 'add, remove' list on the control panel. 

First, I tried to reload the program and it was no showing up on the control panel, that is when I found Minder still under the START menu. 

Under the START menu I have two choices - link to the website or to UnInstall.

Below is the Error message I get when choose to UnInstall:

The installation has encountered an error and is unable to continue

An Error report has been created that you can send to Symantec.  We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.  It will not be correlated with any personally identifiable information. 

To send this report to Symantec now, click send (recommended) 

 -I did send. 

I log in to try to restablish my computer but i get that the 'email is being used by another computer"

If the add/remove does not work, then you could try deleting all the files from safety minder with your computer booted in safe mode or you could try a tool which would remove the service of Norton Safety Minder and then try deleting the files from your computer.

thats not the problem the problem is that the program on my computer doesnt let me uninstall the saftey minder the program says the email and pass are wrong. but i can go on the website using the pass and email but not on my computer. i want to uninstall it because it doesnt work.

I am running into similar problems with Safety Minder.  I had to install a new motherboard and hard drive, but I don't think that's the problem.  Safety Minder will not allow me to uninstall, but I can get into the site and add/remove my children.  I like the product, but I would like it more if I could get it to work correctly.

Ok so instead of everyone continuing to post I can't uninstall because my password doesn't work, I will post instructions on how to do it here.

However if you are a child trying to work around the system, this will not work as your parent is notified when Norton Safety Minder is uninstalled.

I say that because I believe there are "newbies" here trying to remove the software

step 1, remove your network cable

step 2, uninstall - this will cause your system to not check the password as it will be unable to without the network

That's it.
