HELP!!! Google Nexus 7 (Android 4.1) with Norton Safety Minder

I installed Norton Safety Minder on two Google Nexus 7 tablets (Android 4.1). I set up house rules for each child/each tablet under my Norton Online Family account. The program/house rules are not working on the tablet:

  1. Activity is not viewable in Norton Online Family account. It reads "No activity for Last 7 Days" under all tabs (Web, Messaging, Search, Social) but my children have used the tablets for several hours/day for appx 4 days so there should be a lot of activity recorded.

2.   House rules to do not work - I attempted to Google subjects/websites that should be blocked based on house rules are but they were NOT blocked.

Can you please help me correct these issues so we can feel safe allowing our children can use their tablets?

Thank you!!! Ashley

Hi Ashley, do you have NSM installed on any other devices and if so are they properly reporting activities?

Can you tell me which browser you using to visit sites that should have been blocked?

Re: HELP!!! Google Nexus 7 (Android 4.1) with Norton Safety Minder

I just installed NSM on my Nexus 7 and I am experiencing the same issue.  I do have it installed on several computers and the time and web sites are recorded and monitored from other computers.  I do see android applications that were installed on the Nexus 7 showing up under the "Manage Activity" "Apps" tab so I must be connected to the correct acount.  But again I see no activity under the Web, Search, Social or Time tabs.  What is the status looking into this?

Any update on the fix for this issue.  I ordered the premier verson but only the app reporting is working on the tablet.  Appreciate an update from Norton on where all the nexus users stand.

Re: HELP!!! Google Nexus 7 (Android 4.1) with Norton Safety Minder

Hi Morris08, rjvwa, and FlyMartialEagle,

First -- thank you for choosing us and using Norton Online Family.

I'm the product manager for Norton Online Family and saw your comments about Norton Safety Minder not working on Google Nexus 7 (running Android 4.1).  At this time, Norton Safety Minder for Android doesn't support Android 4.1 yet. We are actively looking into this and plan to support this in the very near future.  I'm not at liberty to share dates but it is definitely a top priority for us.  Please stay tuned and let me know if there are any questions/comments.

Thanks again for all your support.

-Yvonne

Re: HELP!!! Google Nexus 7 (Android 4.1) with Norton Safety Minder

Thank you for your useful information Yvonne.

I am currently investigating the use of the application for a business solution; looking at 250ish users. Any priority you can put on getting the application working on a Google Nexus 7 in all instances would be great.

Puttin a note on the Google Play Store or making incompatible with 4.1 on the play store would benefit your potential customers.

Regards,

James
