Incompatible with Chrome and Opera?

Hey there,  my son uses both of these browsers and I noticed that Norton Online Family is not blocking content etc. I'm also not receiving emails or logs about his usage which I was previously on IE.  I tested a particular blocked site on IE and it blocked.  Is there a setting on Norton to allow all browsers to be recognised?  I love Norton Online Family but it really needs to be able to recognise all browsers imo.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Re: Incompatible with Chrome and Opera?

This concerns me as well. Just purchased Online Family Premier this morning and after having spent the last few months weaning my wife and children off of IE and Firefox if it doesn't monitor modern web browsers it's pretty much useless. IE is a hunk of junk, but that's neither here nor there I guess.

Re: Incompatible with Chrome and Opera?

The Windows version of Norton Safety Minder is compatiblie with both Chrome (17) and Opera (11.6) browsers

Some features, like website monitoring are managed at the network level, and should work regardless of browser version.  Other services, like search and social network monitoring, must be enabled within the browser's addon/extensions menu.

Re: Incompatible with Chrome and Opera?

Totally agree with you rmiles.

Andrew D - I tested all the browsers on my son's computer with a website I have blocked.  It blocked it on IE only.  Another thread suggested Avast might be incompatible so I have removed that.  After that, all the browsers, except for Chrome, blocked the specific website.  So I'm not really sure how "website monitoring are managed at the network level, and should work regardless of browser version" fits in here?  Such a pity about Avast though as it's been the only Virus software we have found that doesn't suck into our gaming experiences - all others (including Norton) we've had to disable to play things like WOW etc.

Re: Incompatible with Chrome and Opera?

Hi, I'm new to this so sorry if this is not the correct place for this post.

I use Google Chrome and have an issue with Javascript. Having tried to click on a "Buy" or "Add to basket" button this does not work. I have compared the settings in Google Chrome to that of the retailer and these are set the same, so the only problem must be Norton as I can make a purchase using IE9
