Hi, it is Windows 7 and browser is Explorer Version 9.The message I get (daily) is Norton Safety Minder plug-in is disconnected or disabled

In your case it sounds as if your child is disabling the plugin to IE9.

There is no way to protect against this. If you run IE9 and look at the plugins, just re-enable Norton Safety Minder.
