Norton 360 widget

Can anyone help me. I logged into my Norton account on my child's log in using the widget, but now it is automatically remembering my account details and I can't delete it !!!! I've been in internet explorer and deleted cookies but to no avail. I don't want them to see the account name, even though they don't know the password.

Re: Norton 360 widget

Hi

What widget you had used to log in?

In which place Internet Explorer is showing the Account name?

To Delete the passwords rememebered by internet explorer:

  1. Within Internet Explorer, click Tools, and select Internet Options.
  2. From the Internet Options dialog box, select the Content tab.
  3. Click the AutoComplete button.
  4. Click the Clear Passwords button.
  5. Click OK to confirm your actions.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

Re: Norton 360 widget

HI,

The widget I used was the one on my child's log in, using the small orange icon for online family. Every time I now click on this icon on the same log in, my Norton id is there. I can delete it and it then just says 'email address' but when I exit and go back in, it is back there again.

worrywort,

Could you post a screen shot of the login page?  Please ERASE the login name and password before you post it here.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Norton 360 widget

Hi,

Further to this I may be able to explain a little better. When I open Norton 360 (via widget or desktop icon), the main screen comes up with the 4 boxes with the statuses on. Below this is a full width box which has different content depending on the icon selected at the bottom, ie world activity map, manage, mobile, online family etc.

When I am on my own log in, and click online family, the box just shows a 'LOG IN' button. When am on my child's log in, my e-mail address is already filled in and it is asking for my password.

I want to be able to remove this so that it goes back to the original 'LOG IN' button, for added security as my child does not know my e-mail address or password - I don't want to give them half of the information they require to log in as kids these days can be very resourceful !

Thanks

Hi worrywort,

Do you experience the same thing when clicking on other icons on the Norton 360 main screen?

You might also want to post or check the question on the Norton 360 forum to see if others experience the issue.

It's generally safe that the children know their parent's email address as long as they don't know the password for the account.

I'll also pass the question to the NOF team.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Norton 360 widget

I have researched further on Norton help and found more information:-

Symantec recommends that you use your Norton Account login credentials to sign in to Norton Online Family. If you register your product with your Norton Account, your Norton Account email address is auto-filled in the email address text box.

This information is listed in the 'main window' topic.

I have since installed / re-installed online family, but still the same poblem exists - email address is still there on child's account but not when I'm logged into my administrator account.

Any help would be appreciated.
