Hi,
I would really like to use this product as I have 4 kids and this will really give me the advantage of making sure they are not doing anything they arent supposed to do online. I tried installing it on the 2 middle kids' computers and as soon as I did, the computer stopped getting internet, even on pages like the main google interface, disney, nickjr, etc. These computers are HPs and are both running Windows 7, with Norton 360 6.0 and IE 8.
I saw a post about setting the Proxy in IE and tried that, but it didnt work.
In case it matters, internet in the house comes from the Actiontec router to a 24 slot Netgear multiport switch to all of the room.
Thanks!
Vic

Hi vradina,
If you can’t use internet at all, it could be a compatibility issue. Please check the link below where shows the security products that the program is not compatible with.
Thanks,
Katie

Hi vradina,
I've worked with another user who had a similar issue. Besides Norton 360, the user had another security product installed on the PC and the other security product is not compatible with Norton Safety Minder.
Can you please check again to see if you have a 2nd security product the PC?
Yes, Norton 360 is compatible with Norton Safety Minder.
Thanks,
Katie

KatieQ,
I checked and these computers do not have any other security software. They are HPs that came pretty bare bones. I installed Windows 7 and, Norton 360; that's pretty much all that is on them. This is getting frustrating. I want to use the Norton product for these as well as 5 other computers in my home, but it doesnt seem to work. How can I get this resolved?
Thanks.

vradina,
What version of Norton Safety Minder is installed on the machine? You can determine this by clicking on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the System tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder.

KatieQ,
I now tried installing this on my oldest son's Dell laptop, running Norton 360. Same problem. Internet Explorer completely freezes.
The only constant between all these computers is that they are running from Verizon FIOS to an Actiontec Router to a Net Gear Switch. The 2 HP computers are wired to the network, the laptop is wireless. Could it have something to do with Verizon FIOS?
Anyone using this product with FIOS?
Thanks.
Vic
