Norton Safety Minder

The product worked until a few weeks back.  I got the message that safety minder had turned off.  My child was not here to have turned it off.  I have reinstalled the product (newest version).  I do not have the dog icon showing up in my tray.  I did not see where the addins were listed either on the browser.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Hi TitanGirl,

 

When you log onto your Norton Online Family account, do you see the child profile is protected in green at Settings -> Profile?

 

From what you described here, it doesn't sound like Norton Safety Minder has been install on the PC.

It was set to green.  I uninstalled/reinstalled the product again.  I did notice the service did not start.

 

i got this error in the event log.  It sounds like there could be a dll in conflict.  Unsure what it would be.

 

The Norton Online service failed to start due to the following error:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

What security products and versions do you have on the PC?

 

Did you install any new programs lately?

I use Norton Internet Security (latest version).  I did in the past month get the computer patched up to Windows Vista sp2 with all the patches.  I had problems with the PC and it took some time to get it patched.  This could of been around the time it had issues, but I am unsure.
