I have been having the same problem. Norton Safety Minder title of box. "Norton Safety Minder has updates for this computer. A restart is needed to install updates. Click "Yes" to intall updates and restart this computer or "No" to update later. Do you want to restart now?" Then has a Yes and No button. X to close box is grey so you have to click yes or no to make box go away. I have clicked yes multiple times as well as no.

I also get this annoying pop up window. It started during the last week or so.
See attachment for a screenshot. It doesn't look legitimate as it isn't branded at all and colours look very basic. The underlying process is csrss.exe and has no description in the Windows Task Manager.
Running Norton Safety Minder v2.1.0.52 with N360 v5.1.0.29 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64.

Hello ArneT
We have to wait until the Mods approve your screen shot. Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Seems like the products updates are not being installed. You can uninstall and reinstall Safety Minder to solve this. To uninstall Safety Minder, go to Add or Remove programs, and then uninstall it. After you uninstall and restart the computer, you can redownload and reinstall the Norton product from the following link:

Thanks CyberLife.
Before I try uninstalling and reinstalling Safety Minder, will this remove any settings, rules etc that are in place?

The settings are saved in the server. So you do not need to save any settings. The settings will be restored when you reinstall.
Before you uninstall and reinstall, I suggest you to check the following thread:
