Slow to no browsing if monitoring web activity

After installing NOF on two computers neither could browse until I disabled Web monitoring for those users.  From what I can see on the forum I'm sure it has something to do with my firewall.  I use an Astaro Security Gateway, with a proxy on port 8080.  The firewall is very configurable to allow unlimited rules for allowing services or ports out.  I can't seem to find any post on what to change in the firewall to allow NOF to function and so far I haven't been able to find the golden nugget in the logs.  I'd appreciate any guidance,
