Time Limits

I have the weekday time limits set at a very liberal 2 hours. However they were getting out time warnings at there first sign in of the day. The best guess I have is Weatherbug frequently accesses the internet causing time to run even when no one is logged on. Could this be the problem? If so is there anything I can do about it besides disabling weatherbug?

Re: Time Limits

What user does the weather bug run under when no-one is logged in? If your children are using admin accounts, they might be sharing time with the weather bug. If you create a limited access account for your children, then only when that account logs on should the time limits be monitored.

Re: Time Limits

How is weather bug installed? I am on their website and they have all kind of types, for example vista plugin, the full desktop application, etc... What operating system are you running?

Re: Time Limits

Hi higgi88,

Since all 3 kids have separate login accounts and all have weatherbug running,
my next question would be how are the kids logging off when they're not using the computer?

I know that windows XP gives you the option of 'Switch User' or 'Log off'.
Please make sure that they choose 'Log off', else WeatherBug will continue running in the
background and will consume their internet access time.

Hope this helps,

Re: Time Limits

Thanks I'll take a look at that. Another issue I noticed in connection with time limits is weatherbug was using time in the middle of the night which should have tripped a curfew block. I have the curfew set a 9pm on weeknights. Any thoughts? IE7 /Vista 32bit/XP Pro

Re: Time Limits

Hello higgi88,

We are making a change that will result in the site that the Weatherbug application reports to being ignored in the future.  This means it will no longer appear in the Web Activity log.  You can expect this update to be reflected on your end near the end of the weekend or early next week.

However, we are not yet entirely certain the Weatherbug issue is responsible for the 'Daily Hours limit has been reached' notification your children are receiving when logging in.  We are currently performing tests that will better determine if this is the case and will keep you posted.

Thank you.

Jason
