Time restriction not working

Grandson is in trouble so I restricted his internet time, set the hours to 0 for weekday and 0 for weekend. Now I see that he's been logged in for several hours now. I went and checked the settings and they show as above, but the log shows that he is on the Internet and shows the sites he's been visiting.

What is going on?

Re: Time restriction not working

Hi deen_ad,

Please make sure you have the latest version of Norton Safety Minder installed on the PC, which is 1.2.0.39 and you can determine this by right clicking on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the System tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Time restriction not working

I am having the same problem. I have version 1.2.1.7 installed, which I think is the current version unless you tell me otherwise.

Re: Time restriction not working

I too have 1.2.1.7 and the time restrictions are not working for all accounts. My oldest son was not notified that he was reaching time restriction and was not logged off when limit was reached. Also, I logged into another computer as my youngest son and WAS notified that time restriction was reached. I asked for 15 minutes more time, entering my e-mail and password, then 1 minute later was told I had 60 seconds left. The second request for more time worked. The computer where the problem occured is running windows xp pro sp3. Account that worked is an admin. Account that did not is a power user.

Re: Time restriction not working

Hi toyotagearhead,

If you select from 6PM to 10PM for "Range of hours blocking Kid1 from using the computer", that means the kid is not able to use the PC during the period of time.

Please check the link below for details on how to set time restriction.

Re: Time restriction not working

Hi jsjacinto,

It's possible that Norton Safety Minder has not been installed on the PC successful if you don't see the icon, a dog paw in the system tray.

Please reinstall Norton Safety Minder from the Download link on page https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/loginStart.fs

After reinstalling NSM, please check again to see if the Time restriction works.  If not, please let us know with some details.

Thanks,

Katie
