Your opinion please

Hi

Just received a phone call.  Dont know who from as I could not understand his accent, but his name was Andy!!

He wanted to know if I had a computer because apparently my computer has been sending out error messages and they had emailed us previously with this information to get it put right.  Dont remember having received anything.

I thanked him, told him I would ask Nortons and hung up the phone.

Why did he first ask if I had a computer, as he then went on to say something along the lines of my computer was sending him error messages?

I am guessing this was a scam type telephone call?  Or is my computer really sending lots of error messages to people that I  know nothing about?

As far as I am aware my computer is fine, not running slow, and all the Nortons check seem ok.

Any one had this before?  Any ideas?

thanks in anticipation.

Heather
