blocking facebook

I want to report the same problem as in http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Online-Family/Norton-Online-Family-not-blocking-Facebook/td-p/....

I have to start this new post because I just could not figure out how to add/reply to that topic. KatieQ asked the original poster a question but I have not seen a response, and I could only reply to it here in a new post (the reply button is not clickable).

I use Google chrome. Originally it did block (by category), then it is no longer blocked. I then entered the specific web site to the block list and made sure that the rules are saved, and then updated on my son's computer.

I entered "www.facebook.com", "facebook.com", "https://www.facebook.com", "http://www.facebook.com" but they all resolve to the same one "facebook.com" saved in the list.

Re: blocking facebook

I'm having a similar problem except I'm using Firefox 16.0.1 under Windows 7

Re: blocking facebook

Hi,

Please try to use IE 8 to see if it helps.

Thanks,

Katie

Facebook blocked

[ Edited ]

I am also unable to access Facebook, I could access it a couple of days ago, and then yesterday when I tried to log in, unable to.  Is Norton blocking Facebook?  If it is, how do I unblock it?   I have restoried the computer to a previous restore point, emptied the cache, deleted the history, not sure what else to do.  I have updated Norton.  Any ideas??

I have tried to access Facebook via both Chrone and Internet Explorer.  I am able to access all other websites.

Re: Facebook blocked

Hi PrincessP,

Does it help if you add facebook.com to the allowed list at Settings -> Web online?

Thanks,

Katie
