i have just installed NIS 2010 on my laptop running vista and then downloaded norton safety manager.My internet connection has gone very slow.I posted a topic in NIS security and was told to remove the old mcafee files and then reinstall NIS 2010 to see if the problem was solved.The problem only happens when i have norton safety running.Version 1.2.0.37.Is there anything i can do to make it work properley?

Hi Harry10,

If you uninstall Norton Safety Minder, does the internet connection run faster?  Also, is the PC Windows 7 or Vista(You mentioned Windows 7 for Subject field and Vista in the post)?

yes i have no problems even if i just disable it.

I see in my first post i said i was running vista.I meant to say windows 7.

Thanks for the update.  We would like to try to reproduce it in house.  Could you give us more details on the systems you have.

1.  What edition of Windows 7 do you have (Home Basic, Home Premium...) and 32-bit or 64-bit?

2.  What browser and version do you use?

windows premium 64 using firefox 3.5.5

also ie8

Its definitly safety minder causing my issuses as soon as i disable the connection is fine then when i enable the connection goes slow.

Looked at the thread but doesnt concern me.I have norton NIS 2009 and safety minder on 2 other pcs running vista,these have no problems with the internet speed.

I got the problem solved.I was having issuses with slow programs aswell.took the laptop back to shop and they said it had a hard drive problem so they exchanged the faulty laptop.When i have safety minder installed on here i will see if i get the repeat problem.
