I have lost (physically) the hard drive that was on this PC what do I need to do to prevent my bank card details being used by who ever has the disk?

The first thing I would do is contact the bank and get them to monitor my accounts as well as change all of the access information I was using. This goes for all other institutions that are listed on that drive. you may not be able to prevent all of the loss but quick detailed action should limit it.
