I guess I am the only user not having issues with 18.5.0.125. It's currently installed on a laptop with W7 64bit. Office 2010 32bit is also installed. I can run quick scans and shut down normally.

I would be willing to help if possible. I'm running WinXP SP3 on an older system and have a number of issues with 18.5 whenever I try to run a scan, full or quick. Scans appear to run fine in Safe Mode but not under a normal boot. After scanning a number of items (107 usually but I've seen 98 if I have Task Manager up at the point where I initiate the scan) the scan stalls and refuses to go any further. If I terminate the scan it will not go away unless I force it out, at which point I then have problems starting anything else. If I look in Task Manager at ccsvchst.exe the copy under my user ID is pulling CPU but when I right-click on it the Debug option is ghosted out. I have no idea what I'd need to do to get a log or dump to help with this.

Hi MikeMurray,
Are you experiencing the other issues that are being described in this thread? IE8 Lockups, unable to shutdown computer, NIS won't load settings?

I'm experiencing the stalled shutdowns. As for IE8, I've had problems starting it if I've taken out the scan task. Haven't tried loading the NIS settings but will do this to see what happens. Right now I can't open NIS from the systray or desktop icons until I reboot; have seen this several times.

I should also mention that when I try to shutdown (restart) WinXP I get a popup that ccsvchst.exe hasn't ended as requested, forcing me to end it now. Whatever damage is left behind I assume relates to the failure of the shutdown to complete normally.

I'm also experiencing problems with Outlook (Office Standard 2007) with the Norton anti-spam filter. I'm getting popups from Outlook notifying me I've had problems with Norton Antispam Outlook plugin, asking me if I want to disable it. Most recently I got this when I opened an email (from Symantec appropriately enough) in the Junk Mail folder and tried to click the "this is not spam" button on the Norton Anti-spam menu.
Also, loading NIS settings works fine as long as I can get NIS to open. I can also open the settings for the Outlook email spam filter assuming it hasn't decided to head south.

I have the same problem with Norton 360 v5 beta and Norton Internet Security 18.5. When Installed everything is fine for a few minutes and then my computer freezes. I reinstalled Windows, but the problem occures again. I can't get to the settings and performance insight is empty. Also, when I try to uninstall Norton, setup hangs at "Prepairing Uninstall". In the first betas of Norton 360 v5, there was no such problem.

I am also having a problem with NIS systray after reinstall. If i could get an old version of NIS i'd be more than happy is their a way we can download 18.1.0.37?
