A Norton Virus?

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I have to start somewhere. Last week (4/17) I tried to boot up my PC, but it wouldn't take. After several diagnostics of memory and hardware (with no ill results) I finally gave in. Took it into a local computer shop. When checking for the problem, they came across several corrupted files. They also came across a message from Norton about a virus and for the user to contact a special number. Since I couldn't boot the PC, I never got to see this message. After $125, my PC is cleaned and back in action. Was this unique to my PC or some common problem last week. Just trying to find out what went on.

Re: A Norton Virus?

Hi Kh1812,

Sorry to know that your system crashed lastweek and you got the help from local technician.

Check if you can see Norton has found a virus in your computer, you can check it in the history of Virus scans.

Please let us know if you find any thing in the logs.

In case if your computer is rebuild from scratch then you wont find any logs for the scans.

Regards,
